Name Counsel is a fresh answer to an all too common problem. If you are getting married, expecting or adopting a baby, creating a blended or step family, divorcing, beginning again after the death of a spouse, are transgendered and considering a name change, or simply don’t feel good about the name you’re saddled with, you’ve come to the right place.
For Name Counsel founder and family naming consultant Kelly Utt-Grubb, it began with a simple question: Why do women and children take (and keep) men’s last names and are there other options? That inquiry led to the discovery that no one had stepped up to provide guidance to those seeking answers, and the realization that it was time someone did. Even though it started with young brides in mind, it quickly evolved into so much more.
